Holiday Seasons.

This is my first crack at the online world of blogger-interneting.  It’s almost the end of finals here in Utah Valley, and with one final left my mind’s running wild and is all over the place.  Mostly Facebook and anything to do with snowboarding, but then I thought about how great the Holidays are!  This holiday season was started with sticking around Utah to snowboard and work, riding four days that week, getting tons of food from work, and not being in boring, hot, muggy Texas.  One of my better Thanksgivings.

Christmas is looking just as promising.  St. Nick and his Christmas presents came early this year, about a month early actually, in the form of new gloves and boots.  I got the K2 Maysis boots, a little collaboration that K2 and Penguin did this year.  Which are not only super stylish and fashionable, fairly functional as well.

At first I was super skeptical about the double boa system, due to the past problems/complaints with boa at its inception, but so far the convenience and easiness has blown my mind.  The “Harshmellow” that they use really does make a difference, which was great during that opening week or two when everything was super hard-packed and bumpy.  I’m curious with the durability…but K2’s been pretty good with warranty stuff.

The gloves are CandyGrind a.k.a. Candy Grinders

Also another great pick from Ol’ Santa Clause.  The awkwardly placed zipper on the inside turned out to be one of my favorite things about these gloves, quick/easy access to the fingers is greater than you’d think.  CandyGrinds in general are a bit pricier, but the all-leather and the quality make ‘em well worth it.

So basically, get stoked on some good gear and take advantage of the Holiday Season.  Maybe even bail on “too much” family time this year and get up to ride instead. And maybe read some snowboard blogs.
